FLASH: Governor Obiano rewards Mrs Eunice Ngozi Onuegbusi, from Ukwulu (Amagu village) Ward 1, polling unit 04 (Dunukofia LG) with a sum of 1,000,000 million naira.

In a viral video, Madam Eunice was seen rejecting a whooping 5,000 naira from APC agents in her polling unit inorder for her to vote against her conscience on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

In governor Obiano’s remark: “Madam Eunice knew that though money could buy her temporary relief, but Anambra would be a better place if she voted according to her conscience.

It’s belongs to our loyal party men and women who resisted temptations of financial inducement from rival parties to fight under the banner of APGA because they knew that victory for APGA is victory for the ordinary citizens of our dear state.

And finally, it belongs to Ndi Anambra at home and in the Diaspora who stood behind APGA, not because we have met all the expectations of our people but because even in the foundation my Team and I have laid so far, they see enough sunlight to believe that Anambra State is like the sun which is bound to rise, against all odds. And that is why we won this election”.

ANAMBRA 2021: Work for Anambra People not Parochial Interests – SaMBA tells Soludo

**Congratulates Governor Elect, APGA, Ndi Anambra.

The Southern and Middle Belt Alliance (SaMBA), Nigeria’s frontline political pressure group has advised Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the Anambra State Governor-elect, to work for the interest of the Anambra people and not for parochial interests.

In a statement issued following the successful conduct of the gubernatorial election that saw the emergence of the former CBN Governor as the winner, the group applauds the people of the state for their resilence in ensuring that a free, fair, and credible election was conducted in the state against all odds.

SaMBA, while congratulating the newly elected governor, urged him to transform the state, just as he transformed Nigeria’s banking sector when he was the governor of Nigeria’s Apex bank between May 2004 and 2008.

The statement, signed by Prince Rwang Pam Jnr., Spokesman of SaMBA, on November 10 2021, also reads, “In a civil and decisive manner, the Anambra people gave their overwhelming votes to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, making him the Governor-elect.

“While we congratulate the Governor-elect, SaMBA expects him to hit the ground running, by immediately bringing his vast wealth of experience and infusing his full and unreserved force into the governance of Anambra State.

“We also commend the people of Anambra for their patriotic duty that negated the prior-held palpable fears of insecurity, which had enveloped the state before the polls.

“Prof. Soludo, and the All-Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA], must demonstrate to ndi Anambra that they were not wrong in their choice, as we had advised through our endorsement on the eve of the election.

“We hereby call on the professor of economics to show magnanimity in victory. The recent Anambra election has once again shown the enormous human assets with which the state is endowed, as other candidates, eminently qualified to drive Anambra’s development, had put themselves forward.

“In victory, therefore, Prof. Soludo must galvanize the talents and goodwill of well-meaning ndi Anambra at home and in the diaspora, irrespective of their political persuasions, for the onerous task of moving the state forward. Soludo must be governor for all.

“Away from the usual razzmatazz that follow election victories in our clime, Prof. Soludo must hit the ground running, without much ado. The appointment of critical players in the administration need not wait until the installation of his government in March 2022.

“Ndi Anambra and Nigerians in general look forward to the incoming administration with great expectations. The Southern and Middle-Belt Alliance trusts the ability of the new Soludo administration to change the trajectory of governance in Nigeria.

“Beyond the burden of infrastructural development and administrative reforms in the state, the challenge of fiscal federalism and political unbundling at the centre, all encapsulated in the restructuring debate, remain the begging questions, without which achieving other goals may be impossible.

“We at SaMBA will continue to offer advice, and call things the way we see them. We will also not hesitate to proffer positive criticisms whenever necessary.

“Once again, Congratulations, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo! Congratulations, ndi Anambra!”

Anambra 2021: Southern and Middle Belt Alliance SaMBA aligns with the Manifestos of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the APGA, and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP

ANAMBRA ELECTION: ELECTING THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB

As Anambra citizens approach the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, 6th November 2021, Nigerians have set their gaze on the state to produce a governor that can take governance to new heights.

From former Governor Peter Obi till date, the state’s development has been on a steady rise, though many are of the opinion that the current administration under Governor Willie Obiano has failed to deliver for the people of Anambra; economic indices however indicate that Anambra State compared to other states is better governed.

Today, Anambra people are faced with the historic challenge of electing a governor that will further raise the bar with regards to infrastructure and economic development. Eighteen candidates from different political parties are in the race to Agu-Awka, and each of them is eminently qualified to become the next governor. However, some candidates are better qualified and better equipped to face the rigors and challenges of the office of a Governor

As a group that promotes good governance and increased citizen participation in the political process, SaMBA is obliged to advise ‘ndi Anambra’ on electing the next governor. Anambra state is a critical part of the Southern and Middle Belt Alliance and has been described as the heart of Igboland.

Following interviews and engagements, media reports and manifestos of the candidates seeking election, SaMBA has beamed its searchlight on the four most popular candidates in terms of capacity and reach: Senator Andy Ubah of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young People’s Party (YPP), and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

We have examined such factors as character and personality, accountability and transparency, genuine love for country and strong vision for the state, ability to manage crisis and political experience, business and educational background, overall leadership experience and their Manifestos for the next four years – inter alia – as critical traits that should define a modern governor.

Having done due diligence on the aforementioned and based on the track records of the 18 candidates, it is our considered opinion that the portfolios of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP are best suited to govern Anambra state at this critical moment.

Consequently, the Southern and Middle Belt Alliance (SaMBA) hereby endorses the duo of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo as best suited for Agu-Awka Government House in the governorship election for November 6th.

We call on the Anambra electorate to positively consider either of these two worthy sons of the state who have distinguished themselves and have shown obvious preparedness to take the state to greater heights.

• Felix Oti
• Prince Rwang Pam Jnr.
• Obi Osuji
